Conn. AIDS protesters interrupt Obama speech

A group of AIDS protesters in Bridgeport, Connecticut, halted a speech by President Barack Obama Oct. 30. The President was stumping for Democratic Senate candidate Dick Blumenthal.
Obama's scheduled speech stopped when protesters began heckling the President. The Advocate reported that he responded: "Let me just say this. ...Excuse me, young people. ...You've been appearing at every rally we've been doing, and we're funding global AIDS and the other side is not. So I don't know why you think this is a useful strategy to take. So what we would suggest. ...I think it would make a lot more sense for you guys to go to the folks who aren't interested in funding global AIDS and chant at that rally. 'Cause we're trying to focus on trying to figure out how to finance the things that you want financed."
Obama paused for a moment and then said, "This is one of the great things about Democrats...we always like to be heard."
