POIPU BEACH, KAUAI - Ignite your playful spirit and discover a new dimension of leisure and entertainment on the Garden Island's unspoiled south shore. The Sheraton Kauai Resort, nestled into 20 acres along world-renowned Poipu Beach, has completed a $16 million revitalization that unveils Poipu's newest playground, transforming the guest experience into an unforgettable visit.

"We are very excited and proud to introduce an extraordinary new playground to Poipu Beach where our guests can enjoy a multitude of great ocean activities, plunge into our spectacular new pool, as well as dine, relax or connect throughout the hotel's contemporary facilities," said Chip Bahouth, general manager of the Sheraton Kauai Resort. "These upgrades and enhancements provide a memorable and exciting experience for our guests, leaving everyone with something to talk about and memories to last a lifetime."

Upon arrival at the 394-room resort, guests are greeted by a refurbished and modern porte-cochere. Sweet scents of Hawaiian flowers and cool ocean breezes direct them to the beautifully upgraded Ocean Lobby. This contemporary Island-style space, with its high, vaulted ceiling, is embellished with red and natural wood accents and Native Hawaiian art, letting guests know they really have arrived in paradise.

The lobby opens into a new open-air Ocean Courtyard that is elegantly landscaped and adorned with tiki torches, featuring six intimate conversational seating areas, three of which have fire pits - perfect for an evening over cocktails under the stars. The new Link @ Sheraton Caf is also at the Ocean Courtyard, offering Starbucks coffee, beverages, snacks and sandwiches for those on the go, and a place to meet, connect and relax.

Across the Ocean Courtyard is RumFire Poipu Beach, the island's newest hot spot whose 180 degrees of spectacular, unobstructed views of the Pacific flood the 240-seat restaurant and lounge with natural lighting through floor-to-ceiling windows. The ocean inspired the design, with white and light-blue tones adorning the chic, modern decor, natural dark wood tables and chairs, upholstery in each of the private booths, blown-glass lighting fixtures and partition curtains that separate two private dining areas.

The menu features Hawaiian-rooted cuisine with global influences, designed by new Executive Chef and local Hawaii Island girl Leanne Kamekona, the mastermind behind the signature culinary creations. Whether you're starting your morning with a breakfast buffet or ending your sun-filled day with dinner and cocktails with special friends and loved ones, the new RumFire will make your dining an uncommon experience.

A new breezeway provides guests direct access to the resort's newest water park from the Ocean Courtyard, featuring an expanded, multi-level pool that sits just above the pristine shore, lined with eight private, vibrant cabanas, each named for a native Hawaiian flower and fully equipped with sleek, comfortable beach furniture, flat-screen TVs and ceiling fans.

Just steps away is magnificent Poipu Beach, also known as America's best beach, where guests can bask in the glorious Hawaiian sun or dive into an array of fun activities offered by the resort's Beach Activities Center, including snorkel and scuba lessons.

While enjoying the pool and beach activities, guests can treat themselves to tantalizing bites and cooling libations at Lava's on Poipu Beach, Sheraton Kauai Resort's open-air restaurant and beach bar, located next to the new pool and just steps away from the sand.

For those seeking the consummate venue for meetings, banquets or special celebrations, the new Luana Kai, that overlooks Poipu Beach, is the only oceanfront function space on Kauai and is perfect for daytime or evening functions.
