Sex, Lies, and Antlers Collide in 'The Eight'

EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Santa Claus?

"That man has been a walking, talking, holly-jolly sex-crime-waiting-to-happen for years!"

Happy Medium Theatre (HMT) continues its 5th season, themed "Home is where the horror is," with "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues" by Jeff Goode. Heading up the production are beloved Boston Fringe directors, Mikey DiLoreto ("The Country Club," HMT) and Lizette M. Morris ("DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead," HMT). The production runs for one week only, (Dec. 17 - 22) at the Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.

In this extremely dark Christmas comedy, scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.

With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer... and murkier and murkier.

Happy Medium is very committed to giving back to our community. This is why all profits from this show will go to various charities in the Boston area including the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, The Home for Little Wanderers, The Women's Center, etc.
