Former world heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield's son told TMZ Monday that his father isn't anti-gay and that he loves homosexuals, even though the athlete came under fire this week when he said being gay "ain't normal" on the British reality TV show "Celebrity Big Brother."

"My dad is the most loving and caring person you will ever meet. He treats everyone like a human being ... even if they are homosexual," Ewin Holyfield told TMZ.

Ewin Holyfield went on to say that he has a gay uncle (presumably on his mother's side), and his father treated him like a brother.

"My dad feels that being gay is a choice ... and naturally that's how things work," he said. "You cannot procreate and make a baby with two women, or two men. But at the same time, my dad is not going to judge someone for their sexual orientation."

Evander Holyfield, 51, made headlines this week when he compared homosexuality to being born with a deformed leg, saying, "you go to a doctor and get it fixed back right." He also said being gay is "a choice."

The retired boxing champ made his comments during a conversation with a fellow contestant on Britain's "Celebrity Big Brother" on Sunday. The show's officials made a statement about the incident and said Evander Holyfield's comments "aren't the views that are held by a large section of society, and expressing these views will be extremely offensive to many people."

Evander Holyfield was reprimanded for his remarks and warned to "consider very carefully the effects expressing such views may have."
