A week ago Tuesday, the Stable premiered its new Stable Kash Karaoke with my friends Ricky and Andy (2 guys on a mic) to a fun crowd. Congrats to all for another successful night. On Wednesday, Debra Hampton premiered Cabaret Wednesdays at Hunters and of course Debra's Sexy raspy voice always draws a crowd.

On Thursday, The Village Pub presented their Jump Start Thursday with a special theme of "Sexual healing" which starred Shardee Ross and her guests Vanity Fair, Tonna McKenzie and Alexis Couture. On Friday night the Stonewall National Museum & Archives presented A private VIP reception for Stonewall supporters and VIP's from 7 - 9 pm at its newly acquired Stonewall Museum - Wilton Manors Gallery at 2157 Wilton Drive. The location is getting set to close its doors for remodeling during April and May of 2014. Also on Friday the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus presented their spring concert "Totally Awesome, a tribute to the music of the 80's" at the Museum of Art. Once again they put on a fabulous concert.

Saturday afternoon, I went down to Miami for the Genre Latino cover shoot with sexy model Rafael. Wait to you see how hot he is. On Saturday night, the Ramrod presented "Studs and Spurs," which was a fundraiser to send Mr. Ramrod, Kirk Ruben, to IML (International Mr. Leather) in May. Afterwards it was down to Miami I went to celebrate the 7th anniversary of Discotekka with many of my friends who work there. Congrats to owners Joe and his partner Mike as well as managers Alyson, Danny and Milancita on 7 fabulous years and I wish them many more years of success. A special shout out to my friend Milancita for being so hospitable.

The Village Pub presents Electra Living the legends performing as Bette Midler in concert starting at 9:45pm. This is Electra's first full length show since her record breaking appearance in Provincetown.

Island City Stage is proud to announce it's next show in the 2014 season; the award winning play "Have I Got a Girl For You" by local playwright Josh Mesnik. After a sold out run and extension in the New York International Fringe Festival, as well as winning the coveted TheatreMania Audience Favorite Award out of 189 shows, this comedy is making its regional theatre debut right where the true story actually happened: South Florida! "Have I Got a Girl For You" tells the hilariously true story of a young man fresh out of rehab, in debt, and in a land far-removed from the chorus calls of New York City - Boca Raton, where he soon finds an unlikely career as a Sondheim-quoting pimp. Directed by Island City Stage Associate Artistic Director Michael Leeds, the cast of Have I Got A Girl For You includes local favorites Mike Westrich ("The Timekeepers," "Tick Tick Boom"), Sharyn Peoples("Next to Normal"), Christina Groom ("Agnes of God," "The Beebo Brinker Chronicles") and Larry Buzzeo ("Secrets of the Trade," "Pig Tale").

Performances begin tonight at Empire Stage, with opening night on March 29. The production performs Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 5:00 PM through April 27. Tickets are available at islandcitystage.org, or by calling the box office at 954-519-2533.

Vanities, the long running off-Broadway smash hit comedy starring 5 time Emmy award winner Heather Tom ("Bold and the Beautiful," "One Life to Live" and "The Young and the Restless") along with Nicholle Tom ("The Nanny") and Sonia Satra ("Guilding Light" and "One Life to Live") presents their "Gay Night at the Parker Playhouse." There will be a VIP reception with the cast after the performance. Tonight only 20% of all proceeds will benefit the Trevor Project. Compass presents the annual Palm Beach Pride takes place today and tomorrow from 12 pm to 6 pm at Bryant Park in downtown Lake Worth. They feature entertainment all day long on both days. The Annual Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival takes place today on the Fort Lauderdale beach. 7:30 am the onsite registration starts, with welcoming the walkers from stage at 9 am and the walk starts at 10am. The Boardwalk presents the Miss Boardwalk Pageant, which is an official preliminary to Miss Florida 2014. The night will star the reigning Miss Florida Victoria Michaels and the reigning Miss Boardwalk, Jasmine Skiies, as well as guest appearances by the boardwalk divas. The categories include Presentation (pink), Swimsuit, Evening Gown, solo talent and Q&A. Registration is at 5 pm with the pageant starting promptly at 9pm. Both the winner and 1st alternate will receive sponsorship to Miss Florida.

Tuesday, April 1

Feel it Tuesdays starts tonight at Vibe at 301 East Las Olas Boulevard hosted by Kitty Meow. They promise that Tuesdays are about to get more colorful!

American Veterans for Equal Rights Florida Gold Coast Chapter (AVER-FGC) is having its "1st Annual LGBT Veteran Expo 2014" from 6 to 8 pm at the Pride Center at Equality Park. This expo is designed to help bring veteran related programs and services, as well as government agencies to our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Veterans and help build relationships for the future.

Since the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and DOMA, GLBT veterans are now able to serve their country openly and proudly as well as receive new veteran benefits that were not previously extended to them and because of this, the people at AVER are in a position to connect with and serve their local Active, Reserve and Retired GLBT service members. Their goal is to provide a means of awareness as to the services and benefits that are available to them for serving their country. Veterans that want more information can call 954-651-2150.
