Katy Perry Brings Her "Prismatic World Tour" to Florida

Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 3 MIN.

World-renowned pop superstar Katy Perry is coming to Florida, just one week after starting the second leg of her Prismatic World Tour. Her Florida concert dates start on Monday, June 30, with a performance at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa. She then moves on to South Florida for two separate engagements: one at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Wednesday, July 2, and one at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Thursday, July 3. All three performances start at 7 p.m.

This world tour promotes her most recent studio album, Prism, which has produced such hit singles as "Roar," "Unconditionally," "Dark Horse" and most recently "Birthday," the last of which topped the dance charts this month. Indie pop band Capital Cities, well-known for their double-platinum single "Safe and Sound," will be the opening act for Perry on all three of her Florida tour dates.

This tour is Katy Perry's third, after the Hello Katy Tour (2009) and the California Dreams Tour (2011-12). The stage setup for this tour is being described as "less cartoonish" than her last tour, and the stage setup will include a "Reflection Section" in the middle of the crowd, which will allow her to get closer to her fans than ever before. The state-of-the-art stage promises to give everyone a good look at the action no matter where they are sitting in the arena.

"The Prismatic World Tour is coming to light up some of my favorite cities this summer, as well as some new cities that you introduced me to through your video requests," Katy Perry said direct to the American Airlines Arena via a press release. This will be Katy Perry's first-ever show at the AA Arena. "This colorful show will bring you all the songs you know as well as ones from my new album, Prism. I'm so excited that I got to hand-select some of my favorite artists to join me on this journey - I know you'll love Capital Cities as much as I do," she said.

Interested in knowing the set list for this tour? Well, I can tell you that it's broken up into six "acts," with themes such as "Egyptian" (yes, as a single from Prism, "Dark Horse" found its way to the set list) and "Kitty Purry." Twenty songs are performed in all, including the aforementioned "Dark Horse," "Roar," "Unconditionally," "Birthday," and her well-known mega-hits "I Kissed a Girl," "Teenage Dream" and "California Gurls." The rest I can spill, but what would be the fun in that? Have fun at the concert and see what other hits Katy has in store for you.

Tickets for all three of Katy Perry's Florida tour dates are still available for purchase via Ticketmaster. Ticket prices start from as low as $230.04 for the Tampa performance, from $148 for the Sunrise performance and from $144.65 for the Miami performance. In Tampa and Miami, only tickets in the front of the arena (not in the general admission pit) are available. In Sunrise, the only seats available are the floor seats and general admission pit; the floor seats are the ones priced in this article. If you have any other questions or you'd like to inquire about other arrangements, such as Platinum Seating, call Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
