Fashion for a Cause at Getting to Zero Guild of ASF Orange County

On August 21, Getting to Zero, the AIDS Services Foundation Orange County's newest guild, will hold its second fashion show in the Marc Pridmore Designs Studio. The event will be fashionable and festive as Betinnis Fashions of Brea presents men's looks by J. Hilburn and Undercover Men's Wear and guests bid on an array of extraordinary live and silent auction items. And to help 'get to zero' even faster, Marc Pridmore Designs will donate 10 percent of all sales.

"HIV/AIDS is still not easy to talk about," said event chairman Zai Holder. "Stigmas and judgments remain for both those with HIV/AIDS and those living with the disease, such as families and friends. There needs to be more education about HIV/AIDS; to understand it better, and to prevent new infections. Events such as our Getting to Ground Zero Fashion Show, help to open that conversation in a comfortable and positive way while we raise funds to support the work of AIDS Services Foundation."

Guy Babusek will emcee this evening that truly celebrates design excellence and impeccable style on many levels. There will be two fashion segments, culinary artistry by Thank Goodness It's Sofia (TGIS Catering), wine tasting from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and signature cocktails by Lavish Sensual Cocktails.

Two major live auction items include luxury accommodations for two in Florence, Italy, where the winners will stay at the Platinhome Luxury Apartments and continue to enjoy the finest in cuisine, art and fashion. A second live auction item is a Paul Gauguin Cruise that can take the winner on a one-week all-inclusive cruise to Tahiti.

Underwriting and sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $500 for a Bronze level sponsorship up to $5,000 for Platinum level. Guild membership opportunities are $120 for an Activist, $300 for an Ally, $600 to be a Guardian and $1,200 to be a Champion. Special benefits accompany each level, including tickets to the Getting to Zero Fashion Show, tickets to the ASF annual gala, Shaken' Not Stirred, the Season of Sparkle Holiday Party plus recognition in the ASF newsletter and annual report and all Getting to Zero Guild material.

ASF helps more than 1,600 men, women, children, and families in Orange County living with HIV disease. Services include food, transportation, housing, emergency financial assistance, kids and family programs, mental health counseling, support groups and HIV education and prevention services. We hope for the day when we will never have to open our doors again. Until then, we work hard to ensure everyone living with HIV and AIDS in Orange County has access to life enhancing care and prevent its spread.

Getting to Zero's Fashion Show will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 in the Marc Pridmore Designs Studio, 3089 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, CA. Tickets are $25-50. For more information, visit GTZOC.com.
