Justin Vivian Bond's 'The Drift' Returns

Beloved artist and performer Justin Vivian Bond returns to Joe's Pub at The Public with "The Drift." This long-form work, in a new residency will be performed Thursdays and Fridays, September 11, 12, 18, 19, October 2 and 3.
Bond creates a new free-associative collage of spoken word and song inspired by Tennessee Williams' novella "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone," which is about a retired actress named Karen Stone who drifts from one space to another through couture, bed or her own mind. "The Drift" premiered at Joe's Pub in Spring 2014 to great acclaim. Show time is 7:00 P.M., doors at 6:00 P.M. Tickets are $25, available now at www.joespub.com or by calling 212-967-7555.

Justin Vivian Bond was nominated for a Tony Award for "Kiki" and "Herb Alive On Broadway" in 2007. Other notable endeavors include touring with avant-garde performance troupe The Big Art Group and appearing in the John Cameron Mitchell film "Shortbus."
Described in The New Yorker as "The greatest cabaret artist of (v's) generation" by Hilton Als, Mx Bond is also a writer, painter and Tony nominated performance artist.
