International Celebrate Bisexuality Day Comes to Boston

EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Bisexual individuals and organizations around the world will be gathering to mark International Celebrate Bisexuality Day on September 23. Started in 1999, Celebrate Bisexuality Day is an occasion to honor the culture, history, and achievements of the bisexual community, welcoming people of all genders, races, and identities to participate.

In recognition of the festivities, the Bisexual Resource Center is hosting a Boston-based event on Friday, September 26 at Calamus Books, 92B South Street in Boston, from 6:30-9 p.m. Along with presenting the annual Unsung Hero and Bi Ally Awards, there will also be a book reading for the new anthology, "Recognize: The Voices of Bisexual Men."

"Celebrate Bisexuality Day is a community holiday that we look forward to every year. Boston's vibrant bi community gathers to honor our own for the great work they are doing to support each other. This year's event highlights our new bi men's book, which we are very excited to launch," said BRC President Ellyn Ruthstrom.

The new book is co-edited by Robyn Ochs and Dr. Herukhuti, two noted bisexual writers and speakers. Ochs will be speaking about Recognize at the September 26th event and will be joined by several of the authors whose work is included in the anthology.
