'Drag Race' Stars Set to Invade NYC for Halloween Events

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

This Hallo-Queen, Brandon Voss presents two terrifyingly thrilling events featuring the stars from "RuPaul's Drag Race." The annual "Night of the Living Drag" party takes place Saturday, October 25th at 8 P.M. at Liberty Theater . "Sharon Needle's RuPaulsive Haunted Manor," a haunted house attraction, takes place Sunday, October 26th at 9 P.M. at Blood Manor (163 Varick Street).

"Once again, the spooky time of year is upon us," says Sharon Needles from her Pittsburgh home. Known as "RuPaul's Drag Race"'s reigning queen of Halloween, Needles conjures up a vision of ghoulish ecstasy in a crypt, with red lacquered fingernails clawing at a stone entombment. Her onstage entry, usually in a casket, elicits chills and laughter, but behind her macabre persona is a genius entertainer. " I am a monster that no one is safe from and I'm coming for the city of New York," she continues. "Boo!"

The hauntingly fun weekend begins October 25 at Liberty Theater with drag zombies infesting the former Broadway stage. Needles will host the event with deadly beats provided by DJ Mimi Imfurst and performances by the hit show's biggest stars, including Alaska Thunderfuck, BenDeLaCreme, Courtney Act, Darienne Lake, Ivy WInters, Jujubee, Manila Luzon, Milk, Phi Phi O'hara and Raven.

The next night, the scream queens of "RuPaul's Drag Race" return with producer Brandon Voss' first-ever haunted house attraction, "Sharon Needle's RuPaulsive Haunted Manor."

Fans will roam over 5000 square feet of themed rooms, corridors and a labyrinth of passageways within Blood Manor's custom built haunted house (163 Varick Street). There will be special tableaus throughout, including Darienne Lake on a murderous rampage through a butcher shop, Courtney Act receiving a botched plastic surgery job and Ivy Winters being forced to juggle indefinitely by demented clowns.

And lurking behind dark corners will be even more surprises! "I don't want to give too much away, but our haunted house will be entirely different from our typical 'Drag Race' events and the first of its kind," says producer Brandon Voss. His company, Voss Events, is one of New York City's leading special event, marketing and promotions companies. In addition to their "Drag Race" events, they regularly produce star-studded events with celebrities including Iggy Azalea, Lady Gaga, Cher, and more.

"Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year so we will go out with production," he continues. "The parties will include tricks and treats. There will be massive decor installations, outlandish performers and of course, a whole gaggle of frightfully fabulous celebrity guests."
