A video, showing a group of people taking down an irate man who launched into an anti-gay rant at a Dallas airport last week after assaulting another man he thought was gay, is going viral this week, the Huffington Post reports.

The clip, uploaded Thursday, shows an incident that could have gone from bad to worse if it weren't for a group of people who stopped the beating at Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport.

In the video, a man in a cowboy hat asks the irate man what he's upset about.

"Queers is what I'm upset about!" the man shouts, pointing towards another man wearing a pink shirt. "This faggot right here." He then says something about taking photos before telling the man in the pink shirt to "shove it up your ass man! See how that feels!"

Right after making those anti-gay comments, the video shows the irate man attacking the man in the pink shirt, kicking and hitting him on the head while he yells, "fucking queer." This sparks a group of bystanders to take action, including the man wearing the cowboy hat, lunging towards the irate man and pinning him to the ground.

"No way motherfucker," someone yells. "You ain't doing that fucking shit motherfucker."

"Let up man, it's going to go real bad, let up!" someone else tells the man.

Police soon intervene and handcuff the attacker. At one point while he's down the man smiles and laughs before explaining himself (via Huffington Post):

"Let me tell you the reason why I did it: Because this is America, that's why," he tells the two black officers, adding something that sounds like "the same reason you get to live and breathe and walk black."

"We hope that [the instigator] was under the influence of some kind of substance, because if he wasn't and that's his true personality, then he's going to have a long road in front of him," Neal Kennedy, brother of the original video's uploader, Andrew Kennedy, told People magazine.

Officials from Dallas-Fort Worth confirmed the arrest, but did not reveal any other details regarding the incident, HuffPo notes.

A number of websites are reporting that actor Paul Rudd helped take down the attacker. We are waiting for verification on this one, but check out the NSFW video below:
