The Postman Always Brings Meth

A veteran mail carrier was arrested last week while driving along his route in Texas, when police busted him distributing methamphetamine along with the mail.

The Smoking Gun reports that 39-year-old Edward Flores faces felony narcotics charges for peddling meth while in his U.S. Postal Service vehicle.

And he wasn't busted on a fluke, either: state investigators and the Drug Enforcement Agency worked together for 10 months to bring Flores down. According to cops, he has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 20 years, and Flores' wife is even the postmaster in Lorena, a city outside Waco, Texas, where the couple lives.

Investigators watched surveillance of Flores delivering crystal while wearing his mailman's uniform. They had received tips about the man dealing the drug from his home, as well as reports of a meth-peddling postman slinging it during his route.

That led them to his home, where they seized $17,000 worth of methamphetamine. Now, he is free on $10,000 bond.

Inquisitr.com reports that McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said that as far as his investigators have seen, Flores' wife was not aware of her husband's criminal side business.

But they do believe that Flores did meth himself, and has been 'breaking bad' and dealing it for at least several years. They did not indicate whether any other suspects had been implicated in the mailman's meth operation. But one thing is certain; they are less than thrilled with this mailman's methamphetamine multitasking.
