A lawyer in Ghana is calling for the arrest of students and other men who appeared in gay porn.

On Monday, local media Starr FM and Breeze FM reportedly discovered an "underground gay porn industry in Ghana in which mostly male University students and jobless young men are preyed upon by foreign producers and their Ghanaian collaborators."

As Pink Star News reports, lawyer Gary Nimako called for the men's arrest after the local media's reports.

"People are aware that the society frowns upon it...they have engaged in an illegality and they must be arrested," he told Starr FM.

Some of the men are students at the University of Ghana and have been identified in 10 gay porn movies, which were obtained by Starr FM. The radio station reports the young men claim they were "lured into acting the movie by a European producer. They are demanding full payment of monies promised them by the producers."

Local police have launched an investigation in Ghana and it is reported that the suspected students who appear in the porn clips have gone into hiding.

Same-sex sexual activity between men is banned in Ghana. Men found guilty of engaging in gay sexual activity face are being sentenced to up to three years in prison.
