Last Thursday, The GLBX (Gay and Lesbian Business Exchange of Greater Fort Lauderdale) presented a Business Lunch at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale, which once again brought together a nice crowd and was very informative. Also on Thursday, Dining Out For Life Fort Lauderdale (Yum, Yum) took place at many restaurants and was a benefit for Broward House. Thousands of dollars were raised for this great charity.

On Friday, the month-long celebration of Boardwalks 30th anniversary began. They will be giving away $30,000 in prizes, so check it out, you have all month! On Sunday, Lips presented the Raise Your Hair Up High Gospel Brunch hosted by Nicolette, which was the official Smart Ride kick-off fundraiser and featured lots of patrons in high hair, all for a great cause. Later that afternoon, Flip Flops Dockside Eatery presented their monthly T-Dance hosted by Amanda Austin with music by DJ Silvio. Once again, this T-Dance had a sold-out crowd.

Sunday night was the 10th anniversary of Misty Eyez's Trannie Palace at B Bar and Grille. I was there when Misty started this night at Elements, and I would like to wish her a big heartfelt congrats on her anniversary and wish her many more years of success!

In Miami, the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival continued with movies all week, in addition to their Centerpiece Party and Closing Night Party. Once again the film festival was a huge success!

Thursday, May 7

Saturday, May 9

The Harvey Milk Foundation and the Pride Center at Equality Park invite you to the inaugural "Diversity Honors" at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). This collaborative event will celebrate the achievements of those who have a transformational effect on the lives of others by promoting inclusion and acceptance. The event will be hosted by Craig Stevens, WSVN News Anchor, with special presenter Stuart Milk and featured performer, the iconic Joey Arias. Hunters presents "Beach Ball," an official Beach Bear event starring DJ/Producer Paul Coals with a performance by Big Dipper.
