Reactor Launches First Ionic Watch

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Reactor is introducing the first ionic watch ever to be made. The limited edition Ionic Poseidon is replacing the monochrome look of most watches with a new iridescent, color changing finish.

The Ionic Poseidon features a 48mm solid stainless steel case and band with a unique twist. Using a plating process borrowed from the knife industry, Reactor spent nine months perfecting ionic plating for watches. To achieve the look of the Ionic Poseidon, Reactor begins with a standard IP black plating process and then the plating chamber is contaminated with oxygen to create the iridescent color effect.

Each Ionic Poseidon is as unique as a fingerprint, with no two watches having the exact same graduation of color. Eggplant coloring on the dial and bezel of the Ionic Poseidon complement the ionic plating. Each watch has a limited edition serial number printed on the case back matching the plaque on the watch's box.

Specifications for the Ionic Poseidon include a YT58 auto quartz movement with exhibition case back, and dual timing bezels with an inner ring activated by the 2 o'clock crown. The Ionic Poseidon endured rigorous depth testing and is proven to 1000 meters.

The Ionic Poseidon also has Reactor's patented Never Dark illumination technology. Never Dark is the first technology to combine the intense brightness of Superluminova with the multi-year longevity of tritium, providing illumination under all lighting conditions.

Because it can take up to 30 minutes for the human eye to fully adjust to the dark, Superluminova's intense peak brightness makes a Never Dark watch visible during that initial adjustment period. In situations where the watch will remain in the dark for many hours, the tritium will remain visible for years, even if the watch is never returned to the light. The Titan has 11 multicolor Tritium tubes dispersed along the dial and timing bezels, and on the hour, minute and second hands for precise night visibility and Superluminova hour markers.
