Supporters, Opponents of Gay Marriage Rally in Montgomery

Supporters of gay marriage are rallying against Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore and his opposition to same-sex marriage.

More than 100 people with signs and posters chanted "No more Roy Moore" and passed out forms seeking his removal from office during the demonstration Tuesday at the state's main judicial building in Montgomery.

A smaller group of Moore supporters gathered in front of a church across the street. A man held a sign that says "Repent sinner."

Gay marriage advocates oppose Moore's order last week telling state probate judges to follow an earlier state decision barring same-sex marriage.

Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples wed in Alabama last year, after the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for same-sex marriage nationwide. Moore says he isn't defying the court.
