READ TIME: 1 MIN.
The two gay fathers who sparked a protest by One Million Moms for appearing in a touching Campbell's Soup ad have landed a huge new acting gig: They are set to appear in an upcoming HBO limited series called "Big Little Lies," which also stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Alexander Skarsgard, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz and more, according to Deadline.
Larry Sullivan and David Monahan's commercial, where they try out their Darth Vader impressions with their 3-year-old son, went viral last year, racking up more than 1.4 million views on YouTube. The real-life couple will also play a married pair in the show. The men also appeared in an ad for Sabra Hummus.
This isn't the first time the couple has been on the small screen. Deadline reports Sullivan appeared in "CSI" during its 12-year run and just finished a supporting role for the upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger film "478." Monahan is a writer-producer for Disney's "Liv and Maddie" and recently shot an episode of "Bones."
"Big Little Lies" was created by David E. Kelley ("Alley McBeal," "Boston Legal") is based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name, which was published in 2014.
Deadline writes "Big Little Lies" is "a darkly comic novel about three mothers of kindergartners -Celeste (Kidman), Madeline (Witherspoon) and Jane (Shailene Woodley) - whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder."
