NOTG Honors GMHC, Raises Funds for ICNY Youth Scholarship

On Saturday, March 12, at the beautiful Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square, the The Imperial Court of New York is celebrating 30 years of serving the LGBTQ community and persons living with HIV/AIDS with the charity gala of the year, The Night of a Thousand Gowns. The event will honor former GMHC Board Chairman Mickey Rolfe and will benefit�The Imperial Court of NY LGBTQ Youth Scholarship Fund!�

"The 30th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns will be a historic one and it is more than just a dazzling display of regal glamour, it is an opportunity to celebrate the LGBT community, and in particular, the Reign of Emperor XXIV Opi N. Yated aka�Scott Safier�and Empress XXIX�Madison Mansfield," write organizers. "Of course what Coronation Ball would be complete without the midnight crowning of Imperial Crown Prince Royal�Fredd E Tree�and Imperial Crown Princess Royale Sugar B. Real aka�Rhonda Potter?"

Honorees include activists and philanthropists Marsha Shapiro & Louise Walpin for their work for marriage equality. Humanitarian and TONY Award theatrical design agent Mickey Rolfe for his work as former GMHC Board Chairman & hospice volunteer will be awarded The Imperial Court Community Hero Awards.

Chairs for the event include actress and singer Cristin Milioti, who starred in "That Face" and Tony Award-winning musical "Once"; Actor Michael C. Hall, known for his roles in "Dexter" and "Six Feet Under";�and five-time Emmy Award nominee, legendary fashion icon, costume and fashion designer and stylist to the stars Patricia Field!

Entertainment for the night will be provided by recording artist, songwriter, DJ and promoter�Ultra Nate,�and dance music billboard idol,�Robin S. who is known for her #1 hits, "Show Me Love" & "Luv 4 Luv." There will be a special celebrity appearance by Christopher Jackson, of the Broadway hit, "Hamilton."

Drag Superstars Dame Ariel Sinclair and Logan Slaughter, 2015 Tony winner for Best Musical "Fun Home" will also be joining our entertainment. Sir Johnny Dynell will be our guest DJ for the ball. Many more celebrities and entertainment still yet to be confirmed!

Honorary Co-chairs include Albert Ruiz, Artie Thompson, Ted Detwiler, Ike Avelli, Richard Pryor Jr., Sir Ari Gold, Michelle Dupree, George Brescia, Michelle Dupree, Ike Avelli, Jamie T. "This past year's event was attended by close to 1,000 affluent people and raised a substantial amount for our beneficiaries," write organizers. "In our thirty-year history, the Court has donated millions of dollars to worthy LGBT and HIV/AIDS-related causes. For 2016, we are raising money for the ICNY Youth scholarship to be awarded to our LGBTQ youth around the metropolitan area!"

The ball includes a formal dinner, open bar, entertainment, dancing, awards show, and silent auction showcasing designer apparel and jewels, travel packages, show tickets, and much more!
