Scptt Holland READ TIME: 4 MIN.

On Thursday, there were 4 events in Miami, and miraculously we were able to get to them all...they were: Miami Beach Pride hosting a fundraiser at Painting with a Twist in Miami that was also a birthday party for Dave Cook, OutMiami hosting their monthly Bingo Party at Hotel Gaythering (now that's a BINGO caller...LOL), Pridelines hosting a Mixer in Miami Lakes that promoted their new program Project Safe (Safe Accommodations For Everyone) that provides affirming, inclusive, and holistic support for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ youth, and Winter Party hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Party at R House in Wynwood.

On Saturday, we stopped by the annual Plant Fair at the Pride Center at Equality Park, which was once again a huge success. Afterwards we went to the GLBX's annual Bunnies on The Drive Party at Richardson Park, which benefited Renand Foundation that helps Haitian Orphans. At night we headed over to LeBoy to see TP Lords perform. Sunday started out with The Impulse Group hosting an Easter Party at McSoreley's on Fort Lauderdale Beach that had DJ AJ Reddy spinning the beats. Afterwards we headed to Rosie's Easter Sunday Brunch and the waiters were all in costumes...super fun!

On Sunday, Aril 3rd at 4pm, the Stonewall Museum and Archives, Wilton Manors Gallery (2157 Wilton Drive) presents "And Then I Danced - Traveling the Road to LGBT Equality by Mark Segal - Author Presentation by Mark Segal, the nation's most-award-winning commentator in LGBT media. Signed copies will be available for sale. This event is free and open to the public.

"[A] swiftly written debut memoir . . . [Segal] vividly describes his firsthand experience as a teenager inside the Stonewall bar during the historic riots, his participation with the Gay Liberation Front, and amusing encounters with Elton John and Patti LaBelle. . . . A jovial yet passionately delivered self-portrait inspiring awareness about LGBT history from one of the movement's true pioneers." - Kirkus Reviews

Mark Segal was just eighteen when the Stonewall Riots of June 1969 erupted in New York right in front of his eyes. Determined not to stand idly by, Segal leapt into action that night and was one of the leaders who helped form the Gay Liberation Front from the ashes of Stonewall; and, within a year, he founded Gay Youth, the nation's first organization to deal with the issues faced by LGBT youth. From ending LGBT invisibility to marriage equality, in his evocative memoir, Segal chronicles his involvement in this crucial chapter of American history-and what he sees for its future. Stonewall is also offering a Brunch with Mark Segal for those who want more time with him. The brunch is from 12-2:00 pm at Thirteen Restaurant and Bar and the cost is $50 per person. To purchase a brunch ticket go to:Stonewall-museum.org/shop/mark-segal-brunch-ticket/.
