Thursday, June 9

Key West Pride started yesterday, but the main events start today and go through Sunday. The Southernmost City will host a ton of LGBT themed events from the typical to the truly original, there is something happening during pride for the whole rainbow family. Heathers: The Musical which will make its South Florida debut starting today, will run until Sunday, June 26. This production contains adult content, and is at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing arts with performances Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at BrowardCenter.org or Ticketmaster.com; by phone at 954-462-0222; in person at Ticketmaster outlets or the Broward Center's AutoNation Box Office.

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and AEG LIVE are proud to present "Weird Al" Yankovic during his wildly successful Mandatory World Tour. Known as the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history, earning four Grammy Awards and 15 career nominations, "Weird Al" Yankovic and his longtime band will bring his high-energy comedy rock show to the Center's Ziff Ballet Opera House at 8pm. The W Fort Lauderdale and Westfield Broward presents "Pop With Pride" (A gay Pride Celebration with Music, Fashion and Art). This event will feature 2 DJs (Zepka and Alex Ferbeyre, a fashion runway by Macy's Summer Collection, Make Up looks by Dior and performances by Nicole Halliwell and the Pop Princesses. The Red Carpet arrival will be at 8pm, with live looks at 9pm and the runway at 10pm.

The Miami Lyric Opera will present Marina, the classic Spanish Opera at the Colony Theatre (1040 Lincoln Road) in Miami Beach today at 8pm and tomorrow at 4pm. Maestra Sebrina Alfonso welcomes Excelsa Quartet as guest artist headliners for the rest of the 2016 Summer Chamber Music Concert Series of the South Florida Symphony. Excelsa Quartet which fashioned its name from "Picca excels", a distinct species of Northern European spruce trees used to make the top panel of fine musical instruments will be performing in Fort Lauderdale today at The Leiser Opera Center.
