My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

JC Alvarez READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Writer Nia Vardalos capitalized on the insanity of growing up in her all-too Greek family, and introduced the world to the lovingly hysterical Portokalos. Thirteen years later the clan is back in the surprise sequel "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" finally coming home on Blu-ray and DVD. In the first film, the action centered on the otherwise ordinary Toula (Vardalos) the perfect daughter and her incorrigible family, who only want Toula to settle down and get married...with a nice Greek boy.

Toula finds the love of her life, not exactly where her family might have expected it, but in "Sex and the City" star John Corbett - and the two lived happily ever after. Cut to a decade (and some) later and Toula's life has become wrapped up in her family and her daughter, who is preparing to leave the comforts of home for college. What will become of Toula, who has neglected herself and her marriage completely wrapped up in trying to keep her own ailing parents and daughter happy?

There's nothing contrived about the sequel. Only Vardalos could have pulled together so unique an experience that it merited a second go-around. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" is simply charming, and relatable on so many levels that its message will be as entertaining as the first "Wedding" - even the hair gets bigger in this one!

Accompanying this heartwarming rom-com on the Blu-ray is some appropriately engaging bonus features including a gag reel with outtakes, and a behind-the-scenes look at "Making the Greekquel" that (remarkably) brought back every cast member from the original for this next chapter. There's nothing funnier than family and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" proves that there is nothing better than family either. Get your date night on for this surprisingly enchanting flick - the invitations have all been sent.
