I hope you are as excited about the Rio Games as we are at Uomo Moderno, no matter which country you support!

From 5-21 August, over 250 athletes from Italy will be competing against 10, 500 expected athletes from 206 national committees at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Vying for any of the 306 sets of medals, Italy will participate in 22 of the 28 sports.

At the previous 2012 London Olympics, Italy succeeded in capturing 28 Olympic medals (8 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze) and finished in 8th place for total medals standings. Interestingly, Italy is the 5th most successful nation in Olympic history.
As for specific categories, Italy has performed exceptionally well in fencing, athletics, cycling, boxing, rowing, shooting, and gymnastics-respectively. Some folks are putting their hopes on 10 golds for Italy at Rio 2016!

So for this summer 2016 edition, we have conducted exclusive interviews with five of Italy's most outstanding athletes, who will soon be off to Rio! Our cover boy is none other than the handsome Luca Dotto-Italy's champion swimmer.

Forged by water, Luca Dotto hails from the Veneto region of Italy and, standing at 6'3", is the 1st Italian to break 48 seconds in the 100 -meter freestyle. In his free time, Luca models for Emporio Armani.
