'American Horror Story' Season 6 Gets Premiere Date

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The title nor the theme for "American Horror Story" Season 6 have been revealed, but FX has announced the premiere date for the series' sixth installment.

"AHS" will return earlier than usual, debuting on Wednesday, Sept. 14, Deadline reports.

The last five seasons of the anthology series have all premiered in early October.

Though little is known about the upcoming season in terms of theme and plot, several cast announcements have been made, including Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Denis O'Hare, Mat Bomber, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, and Leslie Jordan.

"AHS" co-creator Ryan Murphy commented a little on the sixth season's theme, saying: "The interesting thing about the next season is that we've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done."

FX president John Landgraf also talked about the show, saying the upcoming season, likely to air this fall, will be "principally set in the present," with a dual timeline in "echoes of the past."
