'Teen Wolf' Star Tyler Posey is Straight After All, Apologizes for Trivializing Coming Out Process
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
After causing a stir and raising more than a few eyebrows last week for announcing "I'm gay!" on Snapchat, it turns out that "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey is straight after all. He is apologizing to fans for confusing them and for trivializing the coming out process.
Sharing a video on Snapchat on Friday, "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey is seen walking to the street sign for Gay Street in New York's Greenwich Village. When he reaches the sign post, he says, "This is me. I am this and this is me. I'm gay! I've never felt more alive. I'm gay!"
"I am a big proponent of love over hate, and standing together during divisive times," Posey wrote on Twitter. "Although I'm not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer) community. This was a moment intended to reflect that."
Posey further tweeted: "And everyone, I am truly sorry to the people I've offended or lessened how big coming out is. I just want to spread love in this world."
If Posey's joking actually turned out to be true, he wouldn't be the first cast member of the MTV teen thriller to come out as gay.
In May, Posey's co-star Colton Haynes came out as gay in an interview with E!. Haynes' coming out followed former "Teen Wolf" star Charlie Carver's own coming out in January 2016.
After Carver came out, Posey told Larry King "I think it's getting easier and easier to do for people. The other day I was driving by these two kids wearing backpacks, in high school, and they were holding hands, boys, and I loved it. It was so cool, man. I really dug it."
