Watch: Gus Kenworthy Plays 'Family Feud' for Homeless LGBTQ Youth Charity

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Out Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy appeared on "Celebrity Family Feud" over the weekend, playing for the charity Happy Hippie Foundation - the nonprofit for homeless LGBTQ youth founded by Miley Cyrus.

Kenworthy's mother, father, and two brothers joined his team and battled against "The Talk" co-host Sheryl Underwood and her family. The athlete, who made headlines for coming out as gay in 2015, explained to host Steve Harvey why he was playing for the Happy Hippie Foundation.

"When I came out to my family, they were completely loving and supportive," he said. "But unfortunately, that's not a reality for a lot of LGBT youth. When they tell their parents, a lot of kids end up on the streets. The Happy Hippie Foundation is for LGBT at-risk youth."

Harvey responded by saying, "I don't get that part. If it's my kid, it's my kid. I'm not going to stop loving my kid."

"Now if your ass ain't working, you're going to have to get out," the host added with a laugh.
