Where to Live Pride in Vegas, 365 Days a Year

We all know Las Vegas throws a great Pride, especially since organizers upped the game last year, moving it to October to help beat the heat and expanding everything from the amount of food trucks to the number of live performances. But Las Vegas -- on or off the Strip -- doesn't wait until Pride rolls around to raise a glass to the LGBT community. Copiously sprinkled like rainbow-colored confetti all over town are spots where visitors and locals come together all year long to have a seriously good time and celebrate inclusion.

"Las Vegas is a great city for LGBT travelers because of our wide diversity, cosmopolitan city celebrations, and amazing venues," confirms Rudy Aguas, general manager of gay-owned DW Bistro, one of the city's most successful restaurants. "LGBT pride is reflected in our community from east to west, and you'll find it in resident shows like Carrot Top and Frank Moreno's Divas Las Vegas."

Nightlife

The club and bar scene in Las Vegas is the stuff of legend, and something you just might need to train for -- after all, it goes all night, every night, with some establishments staying open 24/7.

Charlie's Las Vegas is one of those spots. It's a place where you can roll in at 7:30 in the morning, bleary-eyed but still game for a good time, and actually find it. Situated a quick cab ride from the Strip, Charlie's offers affordable cocktails, and there are parties and specials every night of the week, including Forbidden Fantasy on Fridays with go-go dancers showering on stage.

Caesars Entertainment has a long history of supporting the LGBT community, snaring a perfect score on HRC's Corporate Equality Index for ten years running. Tucked inside Caesars Palace, Omnia's 75,000-square hotspot is as glam as it gets, with bottle service, VIP tables, and some of the world's best DJs spinning everything from top 40s to hip-hop. Friday nights are often hosted by super sexy music producer/DJ Calvin Harris, while electro house musician/DJ Steve Aoki spins September 3, 12 and 30.

Now That's Entertainment

There aren't many cities that can compete with Las Vegas for spectacular live entertainment, and more than a few legends of the LGBT community regularly play packed houses there -- after all, this isn't dinner theater in Omaha.

At 71, with an Emmy, Oscar and GRAMMY (as well as a GLAAD Vanguard) to her name, Cher doesn't have anything to prove. She keeps proving it, though, adding a slew of dates at the new Park Theater inside the Monte Carlo Las Vegas from August through November.

Gay icon Ricky Martin will be living la vida loca at the venue for a run in September. An ardent supporter of HIV and AIDS charities, he's also championed GLAAD, as well as looking oh so sexy.

Wine and Dine

Las Vegas's food scene has become a destination in and of itself, on par with some of the best from both coasts and around the world -- and we're not just talking about the celeb chef eateries from the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Bobby Flay. Homegrown restaurants have got the goods, too.

One of Vegas's more hotly anticipated new eateries, The Kitchen at Atomic, opened in April, next door to funky Atomic Liquors, the oldest freestanding bar in the city. The restaurant's casual, but the food's inventive, with dishes like tomato stew-y spaghetti squash shakshuka and Mama Johns Mac Bites, made with poached lobster.

DW Bistro, a particular hit with the LGBT crowd, is beloved not only for the business's support of Pride, Dining Out for Life and Golden Rainbow, but also one of the best brunches on the planet. "We serve a menu that's diverse, combining Jamaican and New Mexican influences," says Aguas. "We call it 'New Jamaican,' offering everything from our Jerk Fried Chicken and Waffles to our crowd pleaser, Chilaquiles. And don't forget to sip it down with our famous DW Bloody Mary with Jalape�o bacon!"

From morning until night... and then until morning again, there's plenty of Las Vegas pride to be had -- any time of year.
