Melissa Etheridge Brings 'Merry Christmas, Baby' Tour to Ridgefield Playhouse

From hits "Come To My Window," "Bring Me Some Water," and "I'm the Only One" to holiday favorites like "Blue Christmas," "Christmas Baby (Please Come Home), and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," Grammy and Academy Award winning musician, Melissa Etheridge is ready to rock your holiday season at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, December 6 at 8 p.m.

This holiday season, Melissa will be teaming up with the Marine Corps for Toys for Tots to help bring joy to families in need. There will be a representative at Melissa's merchandise booth to accept any unwrapped toy from doors through end of show. Ticket holders can stop by Nature's Temptations (32 Prospect Street, Ridgefield) and enjoy a free smoothie with any purchase in December when you show your ticket to this show! Melissa Etheridge has received fifteen Grammy Award nominations winning two, one Academy Award, and has sold twenty-seven million albums worldwide and almost fourteen million in the United States alone. Known for her mixture of confessional lyrics, pop-based folk-rock, and raspy vocals, Etheridge has been an iconic gay and lesbian activist since her public coming out in January 1993.

On June 20, 2016, Etheridge released a song called "Pulse." The singer wrote the song in reaction to the mass shootings that took place in Orlando on June 12, 2016. As she told Rolling Stone, "We want to try to make sense. We want to try to heal. We want to bring some meaning, some purpose. We also want to put it down forever in history. That's how I'm coping." All proceeds from the sale of "Pulse" will benefit Equality Florida, the states largest LGBT civil rights organization.
