First Look: Vallarta Pride 2018

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

With the theme of "100 Reasons to Celebrate," Vallarta Pride will take place in Puerto Vallarta, from May 20-27, 2018, celebrating the vibrant LGBTQ community through a series of cultural activities, concerts, parties and parades.

One of the first celebrities to confirm their participation in Vallarta Pride 2018, is the famous Mexican actress and singer, Lorena Herrera, this year's Grand Marshal, a place of honor within the festival, and who will also be the star of the free concert offered by Vallarta Pride on Friday, May 25 at Teatro Vallarta, starting at 9:30 p.m. Prior to the concert, special guests and other lucky guests will be able to accompany Lorena Herrera in a VIP Cocktail to be held at Mangos Beach Club, at 8:00 p.m.

Lorena Herrera began her career as a model participating in beauty contests such as "The Look of the Year," "Miss Bikini International," and "Miss Univision." She has also participated in a total of 56 films, including "Cocana'," "El Arrecife de los Alacranes," and more.

In 1996 Lorena debuted as a singer with her self-titled album and the hit single "Soy." In 2015, she independently published the single "Masoquista," in which she dabbled in dance-electronic music. That same year with Flash, Lorena consecrated her status as one of the Mexican artists with the best visual productions. With this song, Herrera established herself as an icon for the LGBT community and began a series of presentations in the most important gay clubs in Mexico.

In 2016 she published the video for "Plastik," the third single released from her new musical stage. That same year, the video "Karma" made its debut, where Lorena left aside the erotic style of his previous clips to focus on other audiovisual elements such as costumes, stages and camera movements. All the money raised through digital platforms with this song was donated to children living in extreme poverty in Mexico.

Last year, Vallarta Pride welcomed more than 17 thousand visitors. The annual event celebrates the city's diverse and vibrant LGBTQ community, which has been a major impact on Puerto Vallarta's culture, heritage, and history.
