'Hot Priest' Andrew Scott Goes Looking for Love on Grindr

You might want to be sure your Grindr profile is looking its best: Actor Andrew Scott, famed as the "Hot Priest" from "Fleabag" and acclaimed as the Sexiest Man in the World, reportedly took to the hookup app to find a date recently.

UK newspaper the Mirror reported that the openly gay British actor, 43, broke up with his longtime partner, playwright Stephen Beresford, in 2019.

But 2020 is a new year, and Scott is moving on. To that end, he created a Grindr profile and posted a photo that, reports say, was suitably hot to remind those who happened upon it of Scott's "Fleabag" sobriquet... except, in real life, the actor is neither a priest nor straight.

The Mirror recounted that Scott, in a recent appearance on Elizabeth Day's podcast "How to Fail," could be heard ruminating on the virtues of "casual sex," saying, "You learn from people. It's not about the length of time you spend with somebody."

That's a significant shift, the once-paired Scott suggested, going on to add, "I feel like my attitude towards relationships and my attitude towards myself and sexuality and all that stuff has changed, and that came about from having the courage to be on my own for a bit, quite a scary thing to do."

British newspaper the Daily Mail recalled that Scott's television presence isn't limited to "Fleabag." He also plays Sherlock Holmes' nemesis, Jim Moriarty, on the BBC's modern-day version of the Arthur Conan Doyle sleuth, "Sherlock."

Scott has also been seen in the most recent season of the anthology series "Black Mirror," as well as the critically acclaimed Sam Mendes film "1917." Reports from last fall also indicated that Scott has been cast in a new series based on Patricia Highsmith's "Mr. Ripley" character.
