Did You Know that Proud Boys Founder Gavin McInnes Used a Big Dildo on Camera?

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Much has been written this week about how several gay men appropriated the Proud Boys hashtag by flooding social media with empowering pics of themselves (as well as thirst traps).

All the focus on the Proud Boys has brought to light an NSFW (actually, not suitable for viewing period) video of Proud Boys' founder Gavin McInnes using a dildo on his online program.

It sounds like a Sasha Baron Cohen stunt, but McInnes did it live. (EDGE cannot figure out exactly when this happened, however.) And he's proud of it, saying as much in an interview earlier this week with on the YouTube talk show "The Americans with Charlie LeDuff."

Host LeDuff describes his show as: "The No Bullshit Newshour brings it to you. Real People. Real News...Power to the People. And God bless America."

He uploaded a clip from the show in which he asked McInness, who founded the Proud Boys in 2016 and is quite vocal about his racist and homophobic attitudes, as to how the video came about. (The quotes below are from the sometimes unintelligible video, which you can view here.)

"Can you explain a black dildo up your ass?" asked LeDuff.

It was "a joke," an agitated McInnes replied.

"A joke? What is a joke about having a black dildo up your ass?" LeDuff asked incredulously?

"You need to broaden your sense of fun... You have no sense of fucking fun anymore," said McInness.

"Wait... that's fun?" wondered LeDuff.

"It's from a comedy show... It's FUN!," McInness shouted back, emphasizing the word "FUN."

"Fun? I'll stick a pencil up my ass," said LeDuff.

At which time McInness stormed off the call, exiting with a non-sequitur: "The fact that you guys are obsessed with white supremacy makes you juvenile as a dumb, feminist in college with purple hair."

Forbes magazine describes McInness as a "media personality" who appeared on "various conservative talk shows. He founded the Proud Boys "as a secret club for 'Western chauvinists,' men ('women are not allowed') focused on 'anti-political correctness' and 'anti-white guilt' with meetings that would consist of 'drinking, fighting and reading aloud from Pat Buchanan's Death of the West.' The election of President Trump skyrocketed interest in the group, and by the end of 2017, the Proud Boys Facebook and Twitter pages had over 20,000 members, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, with chapters around the world, and possibly coaxed by McInnes' inflammatory rhetoric (McInnes admitted he may be Islamophobic and acknowledged being sexist), began to attract the attention of the extremist group."

The Proud Boys have been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

According to the blog Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters, McInness took the dildo "to supposedly 'own liberals' and prove he has no problem with gays. So he said."

For those interested in the video, you can see it in this tweet where it is the second video in the tweet. To avoid McInnes's hateful rhetoric, go to the 1:30 mark. Or you can view in a series of screenshots.
