Out singer-songwriter Tom Goss premiered a new music video this COVID-stricken Christmas that encourages pandemic safety and celebrates the spirit of the holiday.

Struck by a sudden inspiration the weekend before Christmas, Goss penned a new tune that addresses the need to observe the season from home and connect with friend and family remotely in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

"Christmas time in 2020, that means I'm gonna be plenty lonely," Goss sings in the new video. "Gonna make some new traditions tonight."

Among them: Baking cookies "with friends on Zoom, wrap 'em in a box and ship 'em off to you." But, "Don't you worry: I wore a mask the whole damn time!" Goss reveals, flipping up his apron to give a humorous, NSFW peek at what he means.

"Merry Christmas!" the song's chorus goes. "Let's all promise to be safe so we can celebrate another day."

As the video progresses to New Year's Eve, Goss' husband Mike joins in the action, chasing Tom around their apartment. The pair then grab some mistletoe action on the sofa.

"Merry Christmas! Though a thousand miles away, I still love you just the same," the adorable singer croons.

Goss announced the song to his fans on Dec. 19, writing, "So last night I wrote a new song and decided it had to be released THIS WEEK!! The last 16 hours has been a frantic race to produce the track and make a video. It's been so much fun!"

Goss sent the song out later that same day with a message that he was putting a video together. Fans didn't have long to wait: Goss followed up with the video on Dec. 21, sending it out with the message, "Mike and I made this over the weekend. I hope it makes you smile and laugh."
