Lil Nas X earned his second No. 1 song in America on Billboard's Hot 100 chart this week with his new single "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)."

The news comes after the out rapper released the song's biblically epic music video that sparked conservative outrage and controversial "Satan sneakers," resulting in Nike suing MSCHF, the art collective behind the limited-edition shoes that feature a drop of human blood, for trademark infringement.

Billboard reports "Montero" debuted in the top spot with 47 million streams in the United States.

Lil Nas X's recent success follows his previous hit from two years ago, the rap/country track "Old Town Road," featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which went on to earn the record as Billboard's longest-running No. 1 song in its chart history, staying in the coveted spot for 19 consecutive weeks.

Taking to Twitter, Lil Nas reacted to the news in a series of tweets.

He also shared a video he recorded in June 2020, congratulating his future self on the accomplishment. And, of course, he addressed his haters.
