Watch: Kid Cudi Stuns in Dress During 'SNL' Performance

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Rapper Kid Cudi was the musical guest for "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, performing two songs off his latest album "Man on the Moon III: The Chosen." But it's his choice to wear a floral dress for one of his sets that has people talking.

Cudi, who recently starred in HBO's queer miniseries "We Are Who We Are," performed "Tequila Shots" wearing a T-shirt with a photo of late "SNL" cast member Chris Farley. For his second song, "Sad People," he appeared on stage wearing a flora white dresses and a skeleton necklace. When his performance ended, Cudi curtseyed to the audience.

USA Today points out Twitter quickly realized Cudi's "Sad People" performance is likely a tribute to the late musician Kurt Cobain, pointing out that his floral dress is similar to the clothes the Nirvana frontman wore.

Last week was also marked the anniversary of Cobain's death. He died in April 5, 1994.
