Aussie Hunk Harry Jowsey Joins New MTV Dating Show 'Match Me If You Can'

Do Pepsi and mango sound like a perfect match? And how did that become the premise of the new MTV reality dating show "Match Me If You Can?"

"Today, Pepsi and MTV dropped a trailer to announce the upcoming debut of 'Match Me If You Can,' a fresh spin on reality show dating inspired by the latest surprising perfect match - Pepsi and mango. Pepsi Mango and MTV set out to answer the age-old question - what if your favorite stars from across the reality TV universe were mixed up together for a chance to find their surprising perfect match?" reads a Pepsi press release.

"The whole premise behind this latest glorified (flavored) Pepsi commercial is that Pepsi and mango make a 'surprising perfect match,' writes writes The Wrap in a report on the release of the show's trailer.

Produced by ViacomCBS' in-house branded content studio, Velocity, the five-part series will bring together eight stars – Ashley Brooke Mitchell, Eric Bigger, Harry Jowsey, Onyeka Ehie, Natalie Negrotti, Kyra Green, Joey Sasso and Kylie Smith – from the reality TV universe, pairing fan favorites from different franchises together for the first time. It will be hosted by Lauren Speed Hamilton.

"I'm so excited to join Pepsi and MTV as the host of 'Match Me If You Can,'" Hamilton said in a press release. "While I was able to find love on reality TV, that combination doesn't work for everyone. So, we're shaking it up by bringing unexpected pairings on surprising dates to try to find that elusive perfect match, just like Pepsi Mango! I can't wait to show the world what we uncovered!"

Pepsi Mango is the soda brand's first new permanent flavor in five years.

The show first episode will also be released in an unusual format: During commercial takeovers during the finale to MTV's hit series "The Challenge: Double Agents" on April 21st at 8PM ET on MTV, and on MTV's YouTube channel. Subsequent episodes will be released on MTV YouTube each Wednesday.

Amongst the contestants is Australian reality show star and social influencer Harry Jowsey, whose thirst-trapping IG has gotten him some 3.7 million followers. Jowsey was the breakout star of the Aussie reality show "Too Hot to Handle," who "dubbed the term 'Boyfriend Dick' when explaining his own peen. 'It's not too big, it's not too small. Just perfect. Looks pretty,' " reported Cosmopolitan a year ago. "And boy, oh boy, did he start a revolution (...and apparently also a T-shirt line, which we are in no way affiliated with)."

The show's trailer teases with the possibility of same-sex dates, but only pairs women with women in a speed dating sequence. No man-on-man pairings are seen.

Hopefully Pepsi latest foray into branding a product with a television show tie-in will fare better than their recent FOX show "Cherries Wild," which released an app for viewers to give them a unique game show that would entertain and engage viewers and fans on a deeper level, complementing the traditional TV experience," said Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi in a press release. It didn't pay off for the soft drink giant. " 'Cherries Wild" was a wildly failed experiment. The season finale of the Fox game show, which is basically a glorified Pepsi commercial, settled for a 0.1 rating," writes The Wrap.
