After the series finale of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" on Disney Plus, fan theories are once again swirling that Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan), might be secretly gay or at least bisexual in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The moment came when Bucky, who is 102 years old in the series, began lamenting the perils of dating in the 21st century and confusing "tiger photos,"Variety reports.

"While on a nominal date with a woman who runs a sushi bar, Bucky laments the 'weird pictures' he keeps seeing on online dating sites," Variety writes. "Since the people who have been posting tigers in their dating profiles have been predominantly men, fans instantly seized on Bucky's offhand remark as evidence that he was, in fact, bisexual."

This isn't the first time that fans have suspected that Bucky is gay. And if you're a fan a show, you can probably tell know that there will be lots of changes ahead for the series (we won't give it a way!). However, a bisexual Bucky Barnes isn't one of them.

Speaking to Variety, series director Kari Skogland set the record straight on Bucky's sometimes hazy heterosexuality in the show.

"What we were really more trying to display was his complete lack of technical skills, as well as being part of any kind of community," says Skogland. "He doesn't fit. So that was I think more our intention there that try to point to any one particular affinity."

The same goes for Bucky's relationship with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in the show. Any chemistry is purely platonic and a testament to their blossoming friendship.

"It's really love, right?" said Skogland. "They love each other – at the end. They don't love each other at the beginning, but they come to a friendship place where they love each other," adding, "So I'm not really sensitive to masculinity as any kind of barrier between that love, or how it should manifest. I'm completely fluid when it comes to any of that. So there's no defined sexuality to any of it. So it's, really, I think, just affection."

The "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is available to watch now on Disney Plus.
