Watch: Adam Lambert Talks Pride, New Queer Concert

Singer and rockstar Adam Lambert didn't win his season 8 run on "American Idol," but he's been winning ever since he publicly came out as gay and made peace with his truth self, he recently said in an interview with Today.

As reported by Billboard, Lambert is set to headline the first live and in-person Pride show in Los Angeles at OUTLOUD: Raising Voices, an event in partnership with Pride Live's Stonewall Day and Lambert's own, Feel Something Foundation.

"I'm thrilled, and I think that's one of the takeaways that this event will give people: it's a chance to focus on the sense of community," said Lambert, Billboard reports. "And the sense of community right now is more important than ever – we've all been so isolated and detached from one another. So even though we've tried to be socially distanced, of course, you're going to get to see people in a space!"

Touring with the surviving members of the band Queen, formerly headlined by gay icon Freddie Mercury, Lambert has made a name for himself as "Glambert" because of his diva-level stage presence. A feat Lambert says would not be possible if he did not accept himself.

"I was open and out with all the people that I was working with. It wasn't a secret, I think it actually made things a bit easier at that point," he said in his interview with Today. "I feel now when I get on stage, I can really just be myself 100 percent."

At the OUTLOUD: Raising Voices event in L.A., fans will be expecting 100 percent "Glambert" and more. The event features a bevy of queer artists, including Kim Petras, Vincint, Parson James, Sam Sparro and more to kick off Pride season.
