Surprise! Christina Ricci Will be in Anticipated 'Matrix 4'

Christina Ricci is the latest actor to join the highly anticipated fourth installment in "The Matrix" franchise.

Variety notes that the announcement quietly came in a press release for the film and Ricci's name was part of the all-star cast, which includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris and more.

There are no details about Ricci's role as most of the film is being kept under wraps.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, "The Matrix 4" is set to hit theaters and debut on HBO Max on December 22. Though info is scarce, Variety writes, "we know that Reeves and Moss are reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively. Pinkett Smith is also returning as Niobe, but the roles of most of the other actors in the cast have not been disclosed."
