Reports: Grimes, Chelsea Manning Split

Four months after news broke that they were a couple, singer-songwriter Grimes and whistleblower Chelsea Manning have split, according to The Cut.

A source told Page Six that the couple had reached the end of the road, evidently after "breaking up for a while," as a separate source for the site put it. Grimes is "reportedly back on the dating scene," The Cut noted, "which probably means we have even more unexpected pairings to look forward to."

The Cut recalled that the pair sparked headlines as a couple "shortly after Grimes revealed that she had a secret second baby and then broke up with her on-again, off-again partner, Elon Musk."

As reported at EDGE at the time, the relationship had developed quickly, with a source saying that Grimes and Manning had "U-Hauled it" and were living together in Austin.

"Neither Grimes nor Manning has commented on the breakup," The Cut added. "Manning, who has a memoir coming out in October, has previously said she prefers to 'keep my private life private.'"
