Film fans surveyed by a UK DVD rental firm have chosen a gay kiss from "Brokeback Mountain" as the best screen "snog" of all time.

The poll, taken by online rental service Lovefilm, offered up historic kisses from "Gone With The Wind" and "From Here To Eternity" as possibilities for viewers' favorites, but the pup-tent scene between Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in the award-winning gay cowboy movie from 2005 clinched the title.

Second place was taken by George Peppard and Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast At Tiffany's," followed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in "Gone With The Wind."

A lesbian kiss stole fifth place: "Cruel Intentions'" smooch between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair.

The final winners in the top ten included Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster's beach kiss in "From Here To Eternity," "The Godfather's" "kiss-of-death" between Al Pacino John Cazale, Colin Firth and Renee Zwelleger in "Bridget Jones's Diary," Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in "Spider-Man" and Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray in "Dirty Dancing."

"When we asked our members to share their favourite movie kiss, we never expected the results to be so varied," stated Lovefilm marketing manager Fliss White.
