The Products Blair St. Clair Can't Perform Without
Christopher Ehlers READ TIME: 7 MIN.
Whether you first saw Blair St. Clair on Season 10 of "Rupaul's Drag Race" or on the fifth season of "All Stars" – where they placed fourth – Blair has steadily been carving out a name for themself across all areas of entertainment. From their number one dance album "Call My Life" to "Bollywood & Vine: The Original B-Musical" alongside LGBT+ icons John Waters, Jackie Hoffman, and Lea Delaria, the ascent of Blair St. Clair is well underway.
Now, they are reconnecting with their first love of musical theater in a brand-new cabaret show called "Legally Blair," which will play New York's Green Room 42 on Feb. 2 and 3.
Here are the things that Blair St. Clair can't perform without:
Mario Badescu Facial Spray
I spend a lot of my time wearing makeup for big events and performances. To keep my face feeling hydrated and looking nice for hours, I swear by this stuff! I always explain this as a moisturizer that goes over your makeup. It's amazing! I keep a trial size in my clutch for whenever I'm feeling (or looking) crusty. $12, Nordstrom.
Got 2 B Glued Hairspray
YES! Another inexpensive item. This stuff is like concrete. And I don't use it for hair. No, I use it as glue – to glue down my wig for the gig. I'm allergic to most adhesives, but this baby has been saving my life and keeping me snatched for years! $7, Target.
Sara Bareilles on Repeat
When I'm getting ready for a show, I always put Sara Bareilles on shuffle. I think I have every song she's ever recorded memorized. She really just gets me into this emotional space of being ready to be a storyteller on stage.
Airpods
I'm constantly listening to my music over and over and over. I'm extremely Type A. I'm in rehearsal mode until my body physically hits the stage. $169, Apple.
Chanel Chance Perfume
I'm a big "smell" person. I can literally teleport to a memory when I smell something familiar. One of my best friends wears that perfume, and she turned me onto it over a year ago, and now I can't leave the house without it. It's the little details for me. When I spray it, I'm like, "Oh. There she is." $146, Chanel.
Free Weights & The Gym
For me to have a good show, I need to be in a good headspace. Going to the gym is where I can unwind and feel a release. Since the lockdown, I began to care more about my body and how I take care of it. I feel most alive onstage when I'm feeling confident and can let go. Working out helps calm my nerves and keeps me healthy enough to do all that I do.
"Legally Blair" runs Feb. 2 & 3 at The Green Room 42, 570 10th Ave., New York. Tickets available here.
