Amid the 'Summer House' Drama, Kory Keefer Makes His Mark

READ TIME: 4 MIN.

From the sound of the trailer, the "Summer House" reunion is filled with drama and vitriol with accusations of adultery and duplicity amongst the most recent cast members. This may just sound like any other reality series, but there's been something compulsive about watching Kyle Cooke transform himself from aging fratboy to spiked-soda mogul with help from BFF Carl Radke. Both have been part of the "Summer House" seven-year arc, along with Lindsay Hubbard, whose flirty relationship with Carl turned serious and they are now engaged to be married. Joining the show in Season 2 was Amanda Batula, who was already dating Cooke. They became engaged, and though they had issues, "Kyle and Amanda were able to work out their issues and went on to exchange vows in September 2021," reported Us Magazine.
But the reunion,
which airs in two parts on successive weeks, Monday, May 29, and Monday, June 4 on Bravo, is not without drama, as this trailer attests.

"Summer House" is not unlike its Bravo counterparts ("Vanderpump Rules" and "Southern Charm") in lacking much queer content. The show had a gay roommate on Season 1 – Stephen McGee – but hasn't had one since. And the bro-y world it depicts -- entitled white professionals living together and partying in the Hamptons during the summer – appears to leave little room for those not heteronormative. Early in the series it was revealed by Stephen that Carl had a gay relationship when he was 22, but later told Andy Cohen "I'm very confident in my sexuality, Stephen is actually one of my first gay friends. I told him something. Yeah, I didn't really know how to communicate it to him, but I made more of a joke than I should have."

And that's not to say there isn't queer appeal in watching a group of groomed, hot 30-year-olds walking around shirtless most of time. Carl has been the resident hottie for seven seasons (Sorry Kyle), but this year is getting a run for his money from Kory Keefer, who is guest-starring this season after first appearing on the show's spin-off "Winter House." Whether or not Keefer is to become a series regular has yet to be determined, but there was some social media buzz of him not belonging on the reunion show at all, with some fans wondering, "Why is Kory there?"

One reason could be his relationship with house member Samantha Feher, who joined the show this past season. The two met up last summer, had sex on the beach (she told Page Six), and went official as a couple last month. She posted on Instagram a clip of behind-the-scenes footage of when Keefer "playfully bit her butt."

"That was my only meal for the day," he commented.

Amidst the drama, gym owner Keefer is the breakout star on the show. His playful manner and ripped physique made him the show's eye candy this season.

His Bravo bio reads: "'The 'Winter House' season 2 newbie was single heading into filming in early 2022. During the show, he had a vacation romance with housemate Jess Stocker. After making his Bravo debut, Keefer started dating Summer House newcomer Sam Feher, which fans saw play out on season 7 of the show. The twosome confirmed their relationship in April 2023."

"The first time meeting her, hearing about [how] she had a whole roster of guys and stuff... I don't jump into things head first and be like, 'OK, we made out, that means, like, we have to be boyfriend [and] girlfriend?'" the Bravo personality, 32, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, April 25, while promoting season 7 of Summer House.

And his alpha-bro personality has gotten him in trouble with fans on Instagram. In one post, he looks ready for action wearing goggles with the cringeworthy comment: "im not a gynecologist but ill take a look." The negative comments came fast and furiously.

And in another post, he intimated he is well-hung. "the 1st Law of Dick states that skinny dudes will always be packin meat"
