Pop twink Troye Sivan is planning a comeback five years in the making with a new single and forthcoming album. But the singer insists, "I didn't mean to take 5 years to make this album," he posted.
As reported by the Rolling Stone, Sivan teased a snippet from a song called "Rush."
The video featured spliced clips of Sivan from his early YouTube days and then jumps to Sivan seductively laying down as a voice rings with the lyrics "I feel the rush." And Sivan's gay fans wasted no time comparing the lyrics to the popper brand "Rush," and the feeling people get when they take a huff.
"It's not lost on me that some of you guys have been following along since i was the kid w the stye in my eye in that first video 🥲," Sivan explained about including the throwback clip. The new album will be a follow up to his last album release, "Bloom."
"Bloom tour happened (lmk if you came! 🩵), then i started working on it, then cockbig19 (COVID-19), then The Idol, always working on the album in all the moments between..and now here we are."
It's been 10 years since Sivan was signed to a record deal, and he said he is out of excuses and intends on delivering new music.
"Enough excuses now. Enough saying 'soon' 🙃 this is for YOU and it starts NOWWW," he wrote. "I love you from the bottom of my heart."
