Pop star Bebe Rexha was rushed off stage and sent to the hospital during a concert in New York City Sunday night when a cell phone came flying out of the crowd and hit singer in the head, the BBC reports.

The incident was caught on camera and immediately went viral late Sunday night and on Monday when it was posted to Twitter. In the clip, Rexha, who is performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in Manhattan, can be seen performing before a phone comes flying towards her, seemingly out of the crowd. After the phone strikes her in the head, she falls to her knees and is later escorted off stage while she's visibly in pain.

TMZ reports that the New York Police Department confirmed that Nicolas Malvagna, 27, had been arrested and charged with assault, and that authorities later upgraded the charge to a felony because the phone was used as a weapon.

The "Satellite" singer took to social media Monday to update fans that she is OK. A photo shows the singer with a severely bruised eye and a cut on her eyebrow. In a video clip, an exhausted Rexha quotes the lyrics from her hit song "I'm Good (Blue)."
