And Just Like That ... 'Glamorous' Brings a Hot Cast to TV

Frank J. Avella READ TIME: 8 MIN.

Some of the best LGBTQ representation on TV right now can be found in the fabulous Netflix series, "Glamorous." Sure, it's "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "Ugly Betty," and the writing is sometimes too simplistic and predictable, but it's also a celebration of all things queer!

Plus, who cannot love a show with the terrific Kim Cattrall (showing those "And Just Like That..." gals she has no need for them – can you guess who's team we're on?) Diva-ing out, looking spectacular, and giving much needed gravitas to her role as an iconic makeup mogul.

"Glamorous" follows Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a young, naïve, gender non-conforming character who finds themselves working for Madolyn Addison (Cattrall), who created and owns Glamorous by Madolyn, an iconic makeup brand. But the company is in peril, and everyone must band together to help save it... or help sell it.

The show is the perfect summer tonic to all those het-driven movies we are about to be bombarded with – we're talking to you, Indiana Jones, and you, Ethan Hunt, with your impossible missions!

However, there are several other reasons to binge season one of this super-queer series, and I am talking about the hotties that populate it.

Miss Benny (Marco)

Miss Benny plays Marco, the show's energetic, sexy, queer-positive lead whom Madolyn takes under her wing. Marco ends up in a bit of a steamy love triangle with Ben and Parker, while often battling Chad. Benny identifies as a transgender woman. Her journey inspired the character's storyline. A singer/songwriter as well as a thespian, Benny has appeared in "Love, Victor," "Fuller House," and "American Horror Story."

Zane Phillips (Chad)

Human Ken doll Zane Phillips (sorry, Ryan Gosling, but...) gets the satire at play in this series, and knows how to work it as Chad, Madolyn's needy son, who is constantly seeking her approval and trying to sabotage Marco. Zane is stunning. He's gorgeous. His body is killer, and he likes to show it off. Oh, and he's out and single. "It fucking rocks being queer," he's announced. Phillips is that insane combination of take-your-breath-away hottie who is also a terrific actor. Gays sat up and took notice last year when he dazzled in "Fire Island" as the sly, and slightly evil, Dex. And before that he appeared on The CW's "Legacies," where he played the very gay Ben/Prometheus, who has a romance with vampire Kaleb. This Adonis got his start in community theater! His Insta (below) is loaded with sexy AF photos.

Michael Hsu Rosen (Ben)

Adorable, shmexy, and openly gay Michael Hsu Rosen plays Ben, the sweet, geeky tech whiz with a perpetual crush on Marco. And even when he's dissed as "pathetic," he still sticks around. Ben has charm to spare, though in Season 2 (hopefully), he should forget Marco and sow some wild oats of his own. Rosen trained at the School of American Ballet before attending Yale University to pursue an acting career. He made his Broadway debut at age 17 in the 2009 revival of "West Side Story," followed by revivals of "On the Town" and Harvey Fierstein's revisited "Torch Song," playing the ill-fated lover, Alan.

Graham Parkhurst (Parker)

The ridonculously fit and chiseled Graham Parkhurst plays yumflirt Parker, of whom Marco can't seem to get enough. Even after Parker's notions of the way gay men should behave insults Marco, they still can't seem to quit him. On "Glamorous," the openly gay actor seems quite comfortable with flashing his butt (we counted three rear views), which we are more than fine with. Parkhurst's TV credits include roles in "Supergirl," "Titans," "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," and "The Umbrella Academy." This is his breakout performance.

Ricardo Chavira (Carlos)

From 2004 to 2012, hunky Ricardo Chavira played Carlos Solis, loyal husband of Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) on the ABC hit "Desperate Housewives." He first came to the attention of queer audiences as Ramon on "Six Feet Under," and, after "Housewives," etched quite the career in shows such as "Welcome to the Family," "Jane the Virgin," and "Scandal." Now in his 50s, and sexier than ever, Chavira plays Teddy, Madolyn's chauffeur and confidante. Sparks fly when Cattrall is onscreen with Chavira, so we look forward to seeing where this relationship goes next season.

Mark Deklin (James)

Yet another scorching fifty-something actor, Mark Deklin, portrays James, a kick-ass photographer who helps launch a new Glamorous campaign and seduces Madolyn in the process. Deklin, who bears a striking resemblance to "Desperate Housewives" hunk James Denton (and, oddly, appeared on that show for two episodes) has been working in television for over two decades, starring in "Lone Star" and appearing on shows like, "Sex and the City," "Charmed," "Frasier," "Big Love," "Hot in Cleveland," "Rizzoli and Isles," and "Grace and Frankie," among many others. The thesp is classically trained, and got his start in NY theater.

Kaleb Horn

Kaleb Horn (Nowhere)

Kaleb Horn is hilarious and sexy as the mysterious, taciturn, yet wise Nowhere, Madolyn's marketing assistant. His presence is not only indelible on the show, but Horn exudes an undeniable sexiness. The Toronto-based actor and musician's credits include episodes of "Reign," "Locke & Key," and "The Hardy Boys." He has appeared onstage in Soulpepper Theatre's production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and Shakespeare BASH'd's production of "As You Like It."
