Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Might Believe Contaminated Drinking Water Is Making Kids Gay

America has many problems, but Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sure isn't helping. The Democratic presidential candidate has a history of citing unfounded conspiracy theories, and his latest theory might be even more damaging to the LGBTQ community.
As reported by CNN, Kennedy just might believe that man-made chemicals called "endocrine disruptors" in the environment are turning kids gay and transgender and wrecking havoc on their hormones.
While there is no doubt that PFAS dumped by irresponsible companies, often unchecked by grandstanding politicos, are no doubt causing our world harm, we have to call cap on this claim.
"The baseless claim that chemicals – particularly in tap water – could turn people gay has gained popularity with conspiracy theorists over the years, most memorably with conservative radio host Alex Jones, who said chemicals in the water were 'turning the friggin' frogs gay,'" adds CNN.
"We talked to experts and they told us that this was basically comparing apples to oranges," CNN investigative reporter Andrew Kaczynski said. debunking the theory. "Look, we're humans. Frogs are amphibians. For humans, sex is determined at the moment of conception. For frogs, they can be determined by a number of things, including environmental factors."
Yet Kennedy continues attempting to garner support for such claims. be making children gay or transgender and causing the feminization of boys and masculinization of girls.
"I want to just pursue just one question on these, you know, the other endocrine disruptors because our children now, you know, we're seeing these impacts that people suspect are very different than in ages past about sexual identification among children and sexual confusion, gender confusion," Kennedy said on his podcast last year. "These kinds of issues that are very, very controversial today."
Controversial indeed. Experts of course dispute Kennedy's claims, but when has that ever mattered in America?
Addressing Kennedy's claims, a campaign spokesperson of Kennedy claimed that "Mr. Kennedy's remarks are being mischaracterized."
"He is not claiming that endocrine disruptors are the only or main cause of gender dysphoria," a Kennedy campaign spokesperson said in a statement to CNN. "He is merely suggesting that, given copious research on the effects on other vertebrates, this possibility deserves further research."
What deserves greater research is why Kennedy is bothering to run for president in the first place.
