Kylie Minogue Fans Frantic as Las Vegas Venue's Ticketing Service Crashes

Kylie Minogue has one of the summer's most sizzling singles, "Padam Padam" – and eager fans were caught up in a Taylor Swift-style ticketing system crash as an online stampede commenced on Aug. 9 to snatch up seats to her 10-concert Las Vegas residency at the cozy 1,000-seat venue Voltaire, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.
"Minogue sold the whole lot of tickets and tables by about 4 p.m., after going on sale at 10:30 a.m.," the newspaper relayed. "The VoltaireLV.com selling Minogue's Voltaire production went sideways from the jump. Fans trying to access the show through that platform were informed of wait times of, for example, 3359 hours and 3053 hours."
"The site reportedly, repeatedly, crashed within 15 minutes after going live," the account went on to add. "By 4 p.m., fans were told the run had sold out."
It wasn't as though no one predicted the pandemonium.
Frenzied fans took to Twitter to vent their feelings, some managing to maintain a sense of humor, and others... not so much.
"Meanwhile other Kylie fans were shocked by the ticket prices, with luxury VIP packages going for as much as $5000 USD," Sky News Australia reported.
"I stood on my phone just waiting to get tickets," one fan related. "Turns out that the only way to get tickets is by buying a package, which include 1 night hotel, etc. so it would cost me and my husband. $5,000."
That, on top of a 3,000-hour wait time.
Noting the venue's relatively small size and the meager 10-date run, the newspaper pointed out that, "Typically, such strong demand leads likely to additional dates announced."
At least one fan had similar thoughts.
