Oops – Pedro Pascal Couldn't Gain Access to Exhibition about Himself

Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Pedro Pascal, together with "Looking" star Russell Tovey and musician and gallerist Robert Diament, showed up to take in a gallery exhibit devoted to Pascal... only to discover they couldn't get in.

The reason was a simple matter of scheduling: The trio had showed up on Aug. 6 – a Sunday, when the gallery was closed. People Magazine reported that Pascal and his friends were in Margate, England when they decided to check out the Rhodes Gallery's exhibit, titled "ADHD Hyper Fixation and why it looks like I love Pedro Pascal."

The exhibit, a collection of multimedia works that explore the neurological condition for which the exhibit is named, is the work of Essex artist Heidi Gentle Burrell. The artist was thrilled, but also disappointed that the star of "The Last of Us" wasn't able to get an up-close gander at her work.

"It was absolutely fantastic," Burrell told UK newspaper the Independent. "Although I can imagine he's slightly embarrassed, with all the art being about him!"

As for herself, "I'm gutted he showed up on a Sunday when the gallery was closed," Burrell said. "I'd love for Robert to bring him along when we're actually open."

The Independent shared that when the three celebs found themselves unable to get in to see the exhibition, "they took a photo outside and Robert posted it on Instagram" on the page for the Talk Art podcast, which Diament and Tovey co-host.

The photo is a selfie taken by Tovey, who looks very much the silver fox with a buzz cut and a goatee. Pascal, in contrast, looks to have grown his hair out some. The two have their arms around each other and both actors rock hooded sweatshirts. Diament, in a denim shirt, stands behind Pascal.

The post was "how Heidi found out" about Pascal's unsuccessful attempt to see the exhibit, the Independent noted. A lot of other people found out, too. "It was absolutely nuts," Burrell told the newspaper. "So many lovely people have messaged me in the last couple of days. I completely understand why Robert didn't tell me he was going with Pedro, they want their privacy."

The idea, evidently, was for the three to see the exhibit and then discuss it on Tovey and Diament's podcast. Whether or not that chat still happens, or Pascal – who also stars in the "Star Wars" TV spinoff "The Mandalorian" – manages a return to the gallery, "It's fantastic for me," Burrell noted, offering the hope that the incidental with her show will "elevate the conversation around neurodivergence."

"I feel like I'm helping to create a positive change," Burrell added.
