Suspect Charged in 'Drag Race UK Star' The Vivienne Attack

Justice has been served in the case of "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" star The Vivienne's homophobic attack.
After Vivienne reported in Liverpool that they had "Just been attacked in McDonald's, Police on way," investigating police have reportedly apprehended the suspect.
As reported by BBC News, the man responsible has been apprehended and charged. According to the report, a man approached Vivienne and made homophobic comments June 16. The man then punched the victim in the face before fleeing the scene.
According to investigators, Alan Whitfield, 50, of Tom Mann Close, Everton, has been charged with assault and is due to appear before magistrates on Sept. 5.
"No-one, no matter what their background or religious beliefs, should be assaulted, threatened, or subjected to any form of hate crime," said investigating detective inspector Alan Nuttall. "Please be reassured that we thoroughly investigate reports of those targeted through hate crime and will be relentless to bring offenders to justice."
In the words of Vivienne, "Homophobia alive and well folks!" But it's nice to know there is one less hate-filled person roaming the streets.
