2023 Rewind: 'Geordie Shore' Star Grant Coulson Seen Brokenhearted After Quick Breakup

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

This piece is part of EDGE's 2023 Rewind series. We're reaching into our archives and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past year.

"Former Geordie Shore star Grant Coulson cut a glum figure on Thursday as he was seen for the first time since discovering pictures of his boyfriend 'kissing a woman,'" according to the Daily Mail.

"The TV personality, 31, was seen wiping away his tears as he stepped out for a solo outing following the heartbreaking betrayal."

The tabloid continued: "However, Grant looked far from happy this week as he walked around alone in the wake of the shocking news. Dressed down in a blue hoodie and black joggers, Grant was seen walking alongside a river while rubbing his eyes."

As reported earlier on EDGE, British reality star Grant Coulson came out as gay after a long struggle on August 10, announcing that he had a bf he wanted to marry. But three days later, he says he caught his bf (named Scott) cheating and deleted the relationship from social media.

Coulson became a celebrity from his appearances on "Geordie Shore," the British version of "Jersey Shore," in 2014. During his numerous appearances on the show, he claimed to have slept with 30 women.

But after leaving reality television, the "31-year-old has now opened up about his love life and has since found love with a man (named Scott), who he hopes to marry," reported the British tabloid The Mirror. Then, the Mirror reported days later, those plans have been put to the test. "Geordie Shore's' Grant Coulson has been left completely devastated after learning his boyfriend kissed a woman."

About his coming out, he told The Sun: "I think now I just feel more comfortable with who I am. For years I hid the real me and now I am finally happy, I feel like everyone needs to know the real me. I feel like I have been hiding myself for such a long period of time, it just a bit of a weight lifted off my shoulders."

"I think I have known for years but more people are more open to it now. It's not the 1800s, no one's really bothered anymore."

He added that he saw himself playing a character during his reality show experience. "When I was doing TV shows I didn't want anyone to know back then because I feel like it would have ruined the opportunity," he explained. "It was a bit like you were in a character because on Geordie Shore, you are around these alpha males who go out every night pulling lasses basically."

"And that's the kind of people they wanted on the show at the time, yeah," he said. "So I had to go along with that, it wasn't who I was but for so long I had to pretend to be that kind of thing."
