Watch: Gay Wrestler Anthony Bowens Celebrates Historic AEW Title Win
Emell Adolphus READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Out professional wrestler Anthony Bowens is a champion once again. Bowens, as one half of the tag-team group The Acclaimed, beat House of Black at AEW's All In on Sunday with help from wrestling legend Billy Gunn to win the AEW World Trios Championships, reported Wrestle Zone.
Max Caster got the pin for The Acclaimed after a flurry of moves that included Gunn hitting Brody King with the Fameasser. Bowens then connected with the Arrival followed by the Mic Drop from Caster.
It was fine TV and fine entertainment made sweeter with Bowens' win.
To celebrate the occasion, Bowens hyped the crowd up and assembled the "biggest scissor party on earth" at Wembley Stadium.
"We told you two months ago we were going to bring you back to the top and put the gold you deserve around your waist," said Bowens to Gunn following the win. "And here it is."
Bowens added, "And one last thing. I know you came here as the Bad Ass, but we promised 81,000 people the biggest scissor party on Earth. So Wembley, throw those scissors up, get loud."
In case you need context, Sunday's match was a rematch from a July episode of Collision when House of Black defeated The Acclaimed and Gunn to retain their titles, Wrestle Zone reports.
If none of that matters to you, just look at the hot men celebrating with a scissor.
And on Instagram he demonstrated the scissor on a female wrestler with a (hopefully) tongue-in-cheek post: "You should never lay your hands on a lady but no one ever said I couldn't scissor them 🙃 #ScissorMeTimbers"
One reader commented: "You don't see stuff like this in wwe, which is why I like aew. It's harmless entertainment."
Here's more from Bowen's Instagram, including pics of his husband social media influencer Michael Pavano, They have been married since 2017.
